I invite you to browse through and check out the various information & links and please feel free to email me with any suggestions. I especially like the District Sports & Rec page with our various organizations logo’s, you can go directly to each organizations website by clicking on the logo. For various other Rec. programs please visit the HRM’s own website at http://www.halifax.ca.
There will also be a page with direct links to various community volunteer groups and organizations, if you’d like to be added please let me know and if you’d like me to add a short bio on your organization along with the names & phone numbers of your contact person(s) send them to me. The intention is anyone living in or visiting our District can have easy and simple access to all our wonderful community groups.
We also offer an Upcoming Events page so you can easily access what, where and when a community event is coming up anywhere in our District. If you have an upcoming event you would like put on please email me with as much advance notice as you can as we do at times get buried under with emails and can’t promise “same day” service!!
Myself and our HRM Departments want to offer you the best and most accessible service we can, I would like to remind everyone that to get an immediate response to any question or request for an HRM Service please call the Service Line at 490-4000. This number is staffed by operators 7 days a week from 7:00am to 11:00pm, they will answer your call, do up an immediate file and give you the file number for future reference or follow up and will then send your request directly to the Department responsible for the solution.
To any new visitors to our area, while we are extremely proud of the many wonderful communities that make up District One and the sheer beauty of our lakes and rivers it is the people that make our communities great. We have many various volunteers who serve with enthusiasm and warmth and we are always looking for more. As a community we offer many organizations, sports and Service Clubs along with our Legion and various halls that offer programs and assistance – if you can’t find what you’re looking for please feel free to contact me.
